Old Oaks

Prosperity Bank chose to keep as many of the old oaks as possible when they built this branch at Moultrie Creek. They, and the rest of us, are much richer for it.

Europe's Last Coldest Winter

This year Europe is also suffering with record cold temperatures and snow levels. Their last coldest winter was the winter of 1986-87 which didn't produce as much snow, but did have record-breaking temperatures. This photo was taken at the Heidelberg castle on Christmas Eve 1986. We had just arrived from Florida at the end of October and were totally unprepared for this kind of weather. This was also my first and only white Christmas. I think I'll stick with beach sand for my white Christmases from now on.

Damp, gray and chilly

This photo was taken from the Lighthouse Pier looking across Salt Run on the morning in 2004 before Hurricane Frances came to visit. No storms expected today, but it is a damp and dreary forecast. Not the best way to kick off Bike Week.

Signs of Spring

It's hovering right at the freezing mark here on the Creek this morning. We're all hoping this will be the last cold snap of the season. There are more and more signs of spring blooming - many along my road home in the afternoon making it a delightful drive.
